WHO IS FIT-MOB?
Hi everyone, thank you for visiting fit-mob! My name is Edwin Padlan (CSCS, NSCA-CPT, MBA) and I lead a very dedicated and specialized team of health professionals and mobile technologists here at fit-mob.
First and foremost I’m a health enthusiast and the principal wellness coach at ALMA wellness. I’m an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer, a 20+ year student of various styles of martial arts, and my writing has been featured in international magazines such as FitnessLife, KidsLife and Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Wish Magazine.
But, my day job for the last decade has been in mobile strategy and Internet technology – coaching Global 2000 companies how to most effectively reach their target audiences with rich media content. I’m currently on the management team of a consulting firm that advises companies on mobile business strategy.
fit-mob is at the centre of three of the hottest growth opportunities in the world today: Mobile innovation, Health & Wellness, and Asia. While some countries in Asia lead the world in mobile innovation or wireless penetration, these same countries lag the world in health & wellness education. While the USA and Europe lead the world in mobile health (“mHealth”) innovation and implementation, Asia’s developing countries are among those most in need of this innovation. While the US mHealth market is estimated to exceed $1B USD in 2011, the Asian mHealth market is still in its infancy and must first start with awareness and education.
The purpose of fit-mob is simply to educate readers about the opportunities in Asia mHealth. In doing so, fit-mob will identify global trends in the converging health and wireless industries, highlight Asia mHealth case studies that may inspire global organizations to invest in Asia mHealth, and increase awareness of the opportunity for mobile and wireless technology to empower healthy living.
